Perrin Assembly of God, located directly across from the Perrin School, is welcoming their new pastors, Wilson and Judy Gauntt.

The Gauntts spent 25 years as church planters, pastors and most recently a decade in world missions with an International Bible School named Global University where they focused on evangelism and discipleship.

“The Lord Jesus has given us a vision or direction to be a ‘Country Church,’” said Pastor Wilson Gauntt. “In a season when so many churches attempt to copy the mega-church trend, we believe that we can celebrate our country culture and worship the Lord.

“It is possible to be country and do things with an ‘excellent spirit,’  that’s what God says about the prophet Daniel (Daniel 5:12). We want to reach the unchurched, but also provide a place of worship for those who are already Christians and looking for a church home.”

Pastors Wilson and Judy are both musicians, and welcome other musicians to bring their instruments. Their music style is Southern Gospel.

“Our hymns emphasize the doctrines of the Church,” Pastor Wilson says. “We sing hymns and worship choruses, but somehow they always take on a Southern Gospel flavor when we play them.”

Perrin Assembly of God is a growing, friendly church, and everyone is welcome.

Sunday morning worship begins at 10:30 a.m. with a Wednesday Bible study and prayer service to begin Nov. 15  at 7 p.m.

“Come try us out, we will treat you so many ways you will have to like one of them,” Pastor Wilson said.
